New Olim receive a free 5-month intensive Ulpan as part of their government benefits. Must be used within 18 months of Aliyah. Get your voucher from Misrad Haklita at your first appointment.
Free for eligible new Olim. 5 hours/day, 5 days/week, 5 months. Location determined by address on your Teudat Zehut.
Online Ulpan subsidized by Misrad Haklita. 50 NIS. Can be taken simultaneously with public Ulpan.
Flexible scheduling for working Olim. Paid out of pocket.
Children grades 1-12 are entitled to Sha'ot Olim — dedicated in-school Hebrew instruction hours.
Every child in Israel (grades 1-12) has a legal right to education. The city is obligated to place your child in a school. Register as soon as you have an address at the local Agaf Hachinuch (Department of Education).
Secular public school. 600-1,200 NIS/year.
Religious public school. Most common for religious Olim. 1,000-3,000 NIS/year elementary.
Heavy Torah focus. Registration directly through the school.
Smaller classes, more English support. Popular with Olim families. Higher tuition.
